Here is a link to a website : TVo for Kids!
http://www.tvokids.com/framesets/gamePicker.html
It looks like an equivalent to the PBS stations... What drew me to this site was the 3D shapes game... I was searching for a game to play with my kids during math and came across this site! Have fun exploring with Charlie and Lola, playing math games as well as stories, too! :)

Hello again!
Hope this blog finds you healthy and happy. I know that there is a lot of sickness going around right now! Keep taking those vitamins and getting enough sleep! :)
This week marks the end of the grading period! Your child has been through a lot of benchmark assessments! Reading, writing and math have all been assessed this week! Report cards will be available for you on Tuesday night at Parent Teacher conferences, if you want to stop by! If you do not feel that a conference is necessary, I will be happy to send your report card home the next day!
Please remember that school is out for Spring Break from Friday April 2 (no school on Friday, April 2) until Sunday, April 11. School resumes on MONDAY, APRIL 12!!!! :)
Over break, please continue to read every night! You can work on telling time to the hour, half hour, quarter hour and five minute intervals. You can work on counting money-oennies, nickels, dimes, quarters. If you want to work on writing, have your child keep a journal and write things each day that he/she is doing! If you are taking a trip, make a diary of all the places you've gone and activities you have done!
Be sure to check out the links on the left side of the blog...there are lots of activities to fill your days! :)
I hope you all have a great day and a restful and relaxing Spring Break!!

It's Friday!
Hello friends!
Today is Friday and the weather is FABULOUS! :) It is too bad I am home with a sick little girl! I hope that you all have a terrific weekend!
Here are some ideas for you for the weekend!
Math- This week, we leared to tell time to the 5 minute interval... Have your child tell you the time on an analog clock when you think of it. Help your child count by 5's around the clock until you get to the place that the minute hand is located! We also introduced the QUARTER! (Busy Math Week!) Put out a handful of pennies, nickels, dimes and a couple of quarters... Have your child count the money. Sort the coins by value and then count! :)
Language Arts - This week, we learned about homophones! These are words that are spelled differently, have different meanings, but sound the same. Words like here and hear...to, two and too...ate and eight... See if your child can name any other sets of homophones and what they mean.
Science - This week, we learned about Simple Machines. See if your child can find a lever, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane or wedge! :)
Thanks for all you do!!! And enjoy the beautiful Spring weather!!!
